Multisport and multicultural events in Manresa, Spain The Manresa Cup is a multisport and cultural event that takes place in the City of Manresa, Barcelona, Spain at different times of the year. It brings together student athletes from Jesuit and Catholic institutions all over the world to experience an unforgettable adventure. This event offers diverse activities, including sports such as rugby, soccer, basketball, wrestling, baseball, softball, tennis, among others, and cultural expeditions, religious discoveries, and charitable projects. The Manresa Cup provides students of the worldwide jesuit educational network, the possibility of complementing their education by visiting the towns in Catalonia that St. Ignatius visited during his profound spiritual enlightenment and prior to his journey to the Holy Land. The discoveries are made through The Ignatian Way in cities like Verdú, Igualada, Montserrat, and Manresa, going after St. Ignatius steps, following the same streets he walked, the churches where he worshipped, and the cave where he composed the Spiritual Exercises. “We want to provide a platform to bring the worldwide Ignatian community together to Manresa, as we get closer to the 500th Anniversary of Iñigo’s visit to the city. Sometimes seeing where things happen, it helps strengthen one’s faith. If in the future, a former participant of the Manresa Cup returns as a pilgrim to walk the Ignatian Way, the event has fulfilled its main goal.” -- Agustín Oulton, Manresa Cup Director, CEO VARSITY Sports & Educational Tours. The Manresa Cup aspires to become a gathering point for Ignatian followers and students from jesuit educational institutions, as a milestone during their years at school and a turning point in their spiritual lives. The legacy of the Manresa Cup will contribute to maintain, and promote the history of St. Ignatius of Loyola. More information at manresacup.com/
