Anchor 1: Hey SI I’m Ashlyn, and here are your morning announcements. Anchor 1: The Jewish Club would like to share a custom from Passover with the SI community. The Matzo eaten at the end of the Passover meal is called the Afikomen. Many Jewish families hide the Afikomen and have children look for it to win a prize. Tomorrow, Thursday and Friday, Matzos will be hidden on the first floor. Find them, bring them to Mr. Lannan in Room 203, and you can win a cash prize. Look out for an email for more info. Anchor 1: On May 11th Speech and Debate will be hosting a speech tournament for Middle Schoolers. We need volunteers to help judge the students’ performance that day. You could get about seven service hours for listening to these young students. Please check your email for a google form from Dr. Macmillan. Anchor 1: Here are some announcements from the Surf Club and Spring Pops. Anchor 1: Tomorrow is the annual Student and Faculty Giving Day, a chance for us to leave our legacy at SI by funding our individual class scholarships. Look for the donation tables at lunch in the Commons and in the Student Center. Bring $5 cash or use your My School Bucks to make a gift to your class scholarship. Everyone who donates will receive a churro and some SI swag. Seniors who donate will also get an SI alumni pin. Anchor 1: Want to read your friends’ published poem or look at your friends’ published art? Pick up a FREE copy of the Quill on May 3 in the Commons! Anchor 1: Here’s an announcement from Senior Class Council. Anchor 1: Daraja Club will be holding their last bake sale of the year today at break and lunch in the student center. With every dollar you spend, a girl in Kenya gets closer to receiving a life-changing scholarship to Daraja Academy. Daraja means bridge, and with your contributions, these girls will be able to cross the bridge of education to achieve a better life. Daraja club will also be accepting donations. Anchor 1: The Filipino Club will be selling tickets TODAY during BREAK in the STUDENT CENTER for the SF Giants Filipino Heritage Night game on May 21. Tickets are $20, and 15% of the proceeds will go to a Filipino non-profit organization. Anchor 1: GEAR Club will be selling Free Dress this week in the Commons or Student Center during lunch. Free Dress is changed to THURSDAY this week and proceeds will go to support the Asian Women's Shelter Anchor 1: The Molecular Biology class is hosting their Final Showcase tonight at 7PM in the Student Center. As part of their final project for the course, the class created learning experiences on the molecular basis of cancer, cancer treatments, as well as social justice issues surrounding cancer. Anchor 1: Come support girls’ varsity Lax for their senior day today on the murph at 4pm! Go Cats! Anchor 1: That’s it for today, SI. Have a good Tuesday. ASC is hosting a Justice Conference exploring a number of different Asian and Asian-American social topics. The meeting will be in room 116 Thursday after school.
