Over the decades, research into feedback and learning has advanced exponentially. While past research focused on practical guidelines in feedback provision; timeliness, and the importance of action plans are still the most important predictors of positive learning outcome. In-situ feedback is fostered and facilitated in creating a culture in clinical education both in Medical and Allied Sciences; ex-situ formative feedback in online learning environment makes the gap between the desired result and the learner's work clear to the learner.
