Not a good idea to start a communication with recounting a dream. Dreams are usually only meaningful to the dreamer. Most. Most persons do not have devotion to their dream-life; they know they are significant, difficult to integrate into real-life, and have long ago opted to ignore them, even though they can and are haunted by them for hours, for days, and sometimes for years. Once, maybe ten years ago, one of my two daughters was driving me to the train-station ending my visit, and I told her my last night’s dream. She very energetically burst through my telling with a dream she had some time ago about her cats; her memory and its clarity informed me that this was a significant connection to an acute signal from the unconscious that she had so far not really connected to. I have the feeling that that has remained a mystery to her but is still remembered like a scar from an accident or a childhood trauma. I’m one of those rare persons who is considerably devoted to reconstructing, hearing and recording my dreams, at least one tenth of them. I dream every night I do believe, and that most people do also. I have an audio recorder by my bed and often sit up in my bed in the morning, clip the lapel mike to my chest, turn on the device and reconstruct telling the dream to my very dear dependable professional, miniature Sony PCM recorder, the size of two packs of cigarettes for those who remember the smoking years, which fortunately and of course advisably are long ago terminated, if you’re still alive. Yul Brynner, the charismatic Russian actor director and artist, famous for his portrayal of the Siamese king in Rogers & Hammerstein musical production ‘The King and I’, after 4,625 performances, died at age 65 in 1985 of lung cancer, having quit smoking 14 years earlier. He had smoked since age 12. Aware of his dying in an interview on Good Morning America, he agreed to a public service announcement for the very important health crisis that is the mission of the American Cancer Society. Thank you Yul. Thank you. You have saved lives while not your own. On another pressing issue currently advancing in American politics – socialism. I have some thoughts I’d like to share with you. I have lived in Europe for 20 years, first 13 in Denmark in my youth and then again 2 in Denmark and 5 in France and Germany in my adulthood. Scandinavia, Denmark Norway Sweden Iceland and Finland, are the best current examples of what societies live like when governed by socialist political legislation. They are quite ethnically homogeneous with small minority populations, at least in contrast to countries like USA Canada Brazil South Africa New Zealand and Australia which are more difficult to govern for their many contrasting mindsets. From my life experience I conclude that Scandinavia is largely NOT DIVERSE nor ADVERSE. Not ethnically diverse and not deeply politically adversarial by which I mean that by general agreement the social safety net covers citizens equally and fairly completely from birth to death, from kindergarten to higher education, and with a relative egalitarian judicial system. Not so in AMERICA. And that is one of the major divisions that is polarizing us the population of USA. The White versus the Brown. They are in nearly equal population count, though in real statistics the Browns outnumber the Whites. But wealth and political power favors the Whites and they intend lawfully and criminally to retain their slim control over the future of America, even if it means MORE PRISONS, MORE POLICE and MASS SHOOTINGS, MORE DELAY IN IMMIGRATION REFORM, MORE DISENFRANCHISEMENT AT THE VOTING BOOTH, and even WAR as a method of distractive control from the inequality that exhausts the majority from overwork and poor conditions. The RIGHT is going to demonize the LEFT by calling it SOCIALIST, and the LEFT demonize to the RIGHT by calling it WHITE SUPREMACIST and DESPOTIC.
